Royal River Chorus

Royal River Chorus is more than just an a cappella ensemble, it is a family. One of a 500-strong worldwide family of barbershop choruses that form a sisterhood of women coming together for a love or music and harmony.

It is always important to find marketing tactics that work with specific business goals as well as budget. As a non-profit with a very tight marketing budget, the Royal River Chorus employs many grass roots style and organic growth campaigns. They needed to make a transition from using mostly traditional marketing and fundraising tactics to  mostly social media and web with a few print pieces in a budget conscience. Along with social media marketing, bringing graphic and color consistancy, and maintaining a tight budget, we had the challenge of finding a fundraiser that would allow for continued fundraising, even in the midst of a pandemic, when performances were not an option.

New Roots Creative created a t-shirt fundraiser that helped bring in just under $1000 in 21 days with no paid promotion. We created three music related t-shirts without the chorus logo in order to pull in a larger audience, including those within sister chorus’s around the US and Canada. The “Ask me about my chorus” shirt was aimed at helping chorus’s everywhere get the word out about who they are. Just toss on a t-shirt and become a walking, talking, advertisement for any chorus that encourages engagement.

The campaign utalizes Bonfire.com, a free platform for t-shirt fundraisers that also prints, fulfils and ships orders. Each campaign can be auto restarted when another person places an order for ongoing fundraising.
